Palm Springs, CA – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) has named Nicholas F. Carlucci, Jr., the 2012 winner of the prestigious Laurence P. Sharples Perpetual Award – one of AOPA’s two highest honors.

CMA is recruiting for a Quality Inspector with experience in the aviation industry. The Quality Inspector will carry out the quality directives and procedures established by quality management by performing inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts and components used in the manufacture, and partially assembled or finished goods.

Cessna Aircraft is promoting flying and its light sport aircraft, the Skycatcher, in a program called Discover Flying Challenge.

The company has hired eight graduates from university aviation programs to fly the Skycatcher around the country, and a ninth graduate to act as dispatcher.

Charity golf ball drop a huge success

The Grand prize winner of the Banyan Air sponsored FATA Charity Golf Ball Drop to benefit Starlight Children's Foundation of Florida is Rick Simmons of Boca Raton. The winning ticket was sold at Boca Aviation, Boca Raton, FL  Starlight Children's Foundation was presented with a check for $2,000. Mr. Simmons will receive a prize check of $3,000. Another donation will be made to Starlight after the golf tournament.

LCPA Receives Top Honor

FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 9, 2012) — The Lee County Port Authority (LCPA), operator of Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field, was recognized by the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) for several projects at the 2012 Local Image Awards presented in Fort Myers. LCPA received the Grand All Image Award, the top award of the competition, as well as an Image Award for its Base Ops Dedication Ceremony in the Public Relations Programs – Special Events category. The Southwest Florida International Airport “Fly Me to the Moon” Art Exhibit Brochure was recognized with a Grand Image Award, the top award in its division, and an Image Award in the Printed Tools of Public Relations - Brochure category. In addition, LCPA received an Image Award and a Judges’ Award for e-Link, the Lee County Port Authority’s Business Newsletter in the Audio/Visual/Online Tools of Public Relations – Online Newsletter category.

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Banyan Air Service has just completed equipping its ramp to meet requirements for the Gulfstream G650 and G280.   These aircraft, set to enter service this year, are equipped with new systems dependent upon wireless (Wi-Fi) connectivity.
